We started off as a tiny group in 2009 and haven’t grown much since then. We are interested in maps, data and everything else that goes along with it. There are three of us now who really want to keep writing to this blog and keep this group alive – Sajjad, Sumandro and Shashank.
Sajjad Anwar is a hacktivist and programmer based in Bangalore. He works in the research and design of data analytics and infographics. He hearts maps and often makes one. He is found working with other technologists, social activists and researchers in education, human rights and policy making. Find him on twitter.
Sumandro Chattapadhyay is a researcher interested in economies, politics, cultures and landscapes of data. He has studied economics and enjoys working with non-economists. Previously, he has worked with architects and programmers on issues of urban transformation and data visualisation, respectively. Presently he is associated with Sarai-CSDS, New Delhi and HasGeek, Bangalore. He is on twitter as well.
Shashank Srinivasan is an independent ecologist and cartographer who works with NGOs across India. He is interested in applied geographic information systems, conservation policy and environmental governance, and in the intersection of these disciplines.
